From interpreting at various private appointments and functions, to translating all types of personal documents, certificates, records and correspondence, our translating and interpreting services can be tailored to any individual’s requirements.

Communities

We work closely with a wide range of well established as well as emerging ethnic communities and multicultural organisations. We listen to and respect recommendations of the community leaders and senior members when it comes to sourcing practitioners in languages and dialects currently not tested by NAATI.

Translating & Interpreting

Indigenous practitioners

ABC Multilingua Pty Ltd acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of this nation, along with their connection to the land and communities. We pay our respect to Indigenous cultures and to the elders, past, present and emerging. We acknowledge this land where we conduct our business is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

Effective communication requires an understanding of both the language and the culture. ABC Multilingua is proud and honoured to offer Aboriginal Interpreting and Translating. We endeavour to continue closing a crucial gap in communication for Indigenous Australians. Find out more about our Aboriginal Interpreting and Translating below.

What's the difference?

Translators vs. Interpreters

Translators do the writing

Translators work with the written word, converting text from a source language into a target language. This is far more than replacing one word with another. The translator must also convey the style, tone, and intent of the text, while taking into account differences of culture and dialect.

Interpreters do the talking

Interpreters work with the spoken word, converting speech from a source language into a target language. This is far more than speaking two languages fluently. The interpreter must also communicate the style and tone of the speaker, while taking into account differences of culture, dialect, and setting.
