AUSIT Health and Well-Being Workshop

AUSIT VIC Branch Presents:

A Mental health and Well-Being Workshop - coping with vicarious trauma
On-line Webinar via Zoom

Saturday 27 August 2022

11.00am - 1.00pm AEST TIME (VIC)

A practical workshop to provide you with information on vicarious trauma, its signs and coping mechanisms and how to manage stress and anxiety.

Research has shown that nearly all language practitioners experience some symptoms of vicarious trauma, burn out or increased stress as a result of their repeated exposure to traumatic information or stories. This workshop is designed to help you unpack the phenomenon of vicarious trauma, explore warning signs, coping mechanisms and when and how to seek support. This session will also offer practical skills and tips that you can use to cope with stress and anxiety, and to support your own better mental health and well-being. This two-hour workshop will be facilitated by qualified counsellor and provisional psychologist Amy McMillan. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session and are also welcome to email questions to amy.grace.lefevre@gmail.com in the coming weeks if you feel more comfortable having questions responded to anonymously in session.
